Party Like It's 1799!
Welcome to Friday! Can you believe it’s almost mid-May already?

Thank you to everybody who attended PodCamp last week it was a successful event well worth the time and planning. I’m on to the next project!

So can you guess today’s email theme? Let’s just say it doesn’t have anything to do with Steeplechase, well sort of maybe. Actually, the Tennessee Renaissance Festival begins this weekend and runs every weekend through Memorial Day. May 18-19 theme is Pirate weekend...arrrrrr! I have never attended but really want to go so our theme today is Ren Festival...and cats. I couldn’t find anything super funny so Game of Thrones & Grumpy cat will have to do.

Big congrats to HOH member Michelle Ward on graduating from Belmont last weekend. Welcome to waking at 5:30 am...for the rest of your working life. Good thing is you’ll never have to write 50 page paper that nobody reads again. In the real world I’ve never had to write one.

For you web designers - EveryFuckingWebsite.com (make sure to look at the html as well) Thanks to Jenni Leeds-Beronja for this find.

Birthdays:
Lot’s of birthdays this week. Come on out and let’s celebrate you being born! BTW if you don't have your name linked it's not on your email profile, update it here.

Belated: Mary Ann Chipkevich (May 5), Amy Moorehouse (May 5), Ryan Howard (May 9), Derek Schroeder (May 9)

Today/This weekend: Tracy Rose (May 10)

Final Thoughts
Even though it might be rainy today the weekend is going to be awesome! That means I will spend it inside watching Iron Man 3. Yes, I haven’t seen it yet.

Lot’s going on this weekend and the best way to start it is with HOH Nation Happy Hour at Winners Bar and Grill! See you there and I don't then have a great weekend!

Dave

Adult Beverage Facts of the Week
The Roman’s toast! Toast used to be enjoyed by the Romans dipped in wine. The name itself means the wish of good health. Ancient Romans used to toast bread and let the wine soak into it.

The drinker’s version. Have you ever heard of the sentence, “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”? According to popular belief, it is the shortest sentence you can use that uses all of the letters in the English alphabet. However, “Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs” also qualifies as the shortest sentence to use all letters in the English alphabet.

A Thanksgiving feast. We’ve all been taught to believe that on Thanksgiving day, they served turkey, mashed potatoes, and other more festive foods. The truth is that they had none of these things. Instead, they had alcohol. These included brandy, beer, wine and gin.
